I remember the moment that changed everything.

It was March 2020, and the world was in chaos. COVID-19 was tearing through New York City, people were dying like flies, and doctors had no answers. People with preexisting conditions (like me) were told to be extra cautious—because the virus would come for us first.

I sat there, thinking, “If I drop dead today, who’s going to teach my kids about money?”

I wasn’t afraid of dying, I was afraid of not being around to teach my children how to create and sustain wealth. I was lucky. Financial security wasn’t the problem—our passive income already exceeded our expenses. But I knew something most people don’t:

To make sure I had some sort of framework to leave behind in case I dropped dead, I started writing down everything I knew about money, investing, and financial freedom, hoping that my kids would read it at some point in the future and it would help them become smarter about everything to do with money.

What started as a private diary for my children has now turned into a mission to help others.

I’m a regular guy, with no fancy degrees, no silver spoon, no high-profile jobs. Any and all of my success comes from the kindness and generosity of people richer than me and smarter than me who were willing to share their knowledge.
